Case : wounds in the back leg during harvesting.
A SPANA vet called Lina treated this horse called ( Brown )on one of the mobile rounds to the villages of Hama in Harbnafseh. The owner, Deep Ibrahim owned this horse and used him in harvesting his land which was about 10.000 sq metres. His annual income is about £ 900 with which he has to support ten children. Brown was wounded deeply in his back , by the plowshare during the harvesting, and he stopped working because of pain and he became unable to stand or walk. By examination it was noticed that the wound was very deep and caused to him lameness.The treatment began by cleaning the wound with salty water , then by watery solution of iodine and spray of alamycin. Brown was given 3000 I.U. of antitetanus , 5 doses of antibiotic for 5 days, 3 doses of diclovic and 3 doses of vitamin for 3 days. The case was continued for 3 weeks through which the wound was anointed daily with the blue methyl until the complete recovery.
The owner thanked SPANA for their charity towards poor animals .
